Application #1

Communicating with Your Site Controller and Tank Gauge

Application 1: You are on vacation in Florida and you need to communicate directly with both your site controller and the tank monitor at one of your sites.

Solution: As long as you have Internet access, signing on to your secure Infinity web site will provide you with the ability to communicate with both devices through the same connection from anywhere in the world.

Step-by-Step:

Run Non-Interactive Commands And Reports

•  On your Infinity Site Status page, click on the site name or site license number of the desired site.

•  Click Yes if the Security Alert window appears.

•  The Enter Network Password window will appear. In the User Name box, type the site license number (exactly as shown), and in the Password box, type your password and click OK. The Infinity Main Menu for that site will appear.

•  In the iSite section, you can enter site controller commands in the Run Command box and then click the Run Command button. The result of the command will appear on the screen. (For site controller III, the command can be run, but the output does not display on the screen. If you wish to see the output of the command, you need to follow the interactive command instructions below.) Using the site controller command short-cut format, you can format some interactive commands into a single command. Reference the CFN Site Manager's Manual for the format.

•  Click Return to Infinity Main Menu to return to the main menu page.

•  In the iTank section, you can select tank gauge reports from the Run Report drop down box. Click the Run Report button and the output will display on the screen.

•  Click Return to Infinity Main Menu to return to the main menu page.

Run Site Controller Interactive Commands - Site Controller II

•  If you wish to open a terminal session, on the Infinity Site Status page, click on the row of the desired site in the Last Updated column.

•  Click Yes if you receive the security alert window.

•  In the User Name box, type the site license number.

•  In the Password box, type your password and click ok . The SSH User Authentication window appears.

•  In the User Name box, type isite.

•  In the Password box type isite and click the Login button. The terminal window should appear indicating the login and password were accepted and indicate you are connected.

•  Click inside the window and press ENTER. The signon prompt will appear.

•  Enter your site sign-on and press ENTER. The C* prompt should appear. You can now enter your site controller commands as if you were sitting directly in front of the Site Controller II.

•  When you are finished, type exit at the C* prompt and press ENTER. Then press the shift and ~ keys and then press the period key. ( Note : if you do not perform this step, you will lock up access to your site through the Infinity PC! )
