Application #14

Automating Inventory Deliveries & Record-Keeping

Application 14: Your tank records are being audited by your local environmental agency and you need to show the auditor your monthly tank and line leak test reports.

Solution: You can take advantage of Infinity's report scheduling feature to automatically run and store your tank gauge tank and line leak test reports (e.g. CLSD Test Results, In Tank Leak Test History, Pressure Line Leak Test History). The reports are stored in the Infinity Report Archives, easily accessible by site at any time from anywhere you have Internet access.

Step-by-Step:

Scheduling Reports

•  On the Infinity Site Status page, click Infinity Configuration .

•  On the Infinity Configuration Menu page, select the desired site in the Site: drop down box and click the Load button.

•  In the Common Configuration section, click Report Schedules .

•  The reports that are currently scheduled for the selected site will appear. Some reports are already set up in the default configuration when the software is shipped. Review the reports to make sure your desired reports are there (in this example, leak test reports), and they are set to run at your desired times. The default leak test reports are set to run the first and fifteenth of every month. The Help link in the upper right corner of the screen provides an explanation on the time.

•  If you wish to change the time on any of the reports shown, click the Change button at the bottom of the screen. Make your changes and click the Save button.

•  If you wish to add a new report, click the Add button on the bottom of the screen.

•  Select your system type from the System Type drop down box.

•  Select your desired report from the Report drop down box. If the report does not show in the drop down box, you need to follow the steps in the sub-bullets below; otherwise, skip to the next bullet.

•  Click the Cancel button to return to the Report Schedules screen.

•  Click Return to Infinity Configuration Menu .

•  Click Report Management under the iTank Configuration section. (If it was a site controller report you would click Report Management under the iSite Configuration section.)

•  Click the Add button at the bottom of the screen.

•  In the Report Name box, type a name for the report. In the Report Code box, type the file extension of the report as generated by the tank gauge (e.g. IC0200). Check your tank gauge manufacturer's documentation or web site for the extensions of their reports . (for a site controller report it can be the file extension of the report [e.g. DIG] or if it is generated by a command it is the command [e.g. PR DA]).

•  For the Alert Group , Execute Command , Indicate Late in Minutes , Late Alert Group , Scan with Event Group entries, you can utilize the Help information if you would like to make an entry.

•  Select your system type from the System Type drop down box and click the Save button.

•  Click the Return to Infinity Configuration Menu and then click the Report Schedules link. If you repeat the add steps in Report Schedules above, the desired report will now display in the Report drop down box.

•  Schedule the time you want to run the report by completing the Minutes , Hours , Day of Month , Month , and Day of Week entries and then click the Save button. (Click the Help link in the upper right corner if you need assistance in understanding the time entries.)

Reviewing Stored Reports

•  On the Infinity Site Status screen, click Report Archive . The directory of reports will appear.

•  Click on the file that matches the report you wish to see. In this example, you would click on veederroot since you are interested in seeing your leak test reports.

•  The archived reports will listed as MMDDYY.report code . If you do not know the report code, you can refer back to the Report Management screen to see the matching report names.

•  Clicking on the desired report will make it display on the screen.
